Note from the Designated Safeguarding and Welfare Lead

Dear Parent/Carer,

At Penketh high School we pride ourselves on the pastoral and welfare we support we have available and the strong relationships we have with key external services to offer you the best school support and signposting to support services there is. We have a vast amount of experience in the team and many years’ experience of supporting vulnerable pupils across the borough at both school and local authority level.

This is a very exciting year we are at the beginning of as we have started a brand-new Welfare team in school.

This team has replaced the old hub structure we had in place and we are looking to provide our pupils with the best support there is in any Warrington school to ensure they progress to the best of their ability and are not hindered by safeguarding issues. We would like to get all school stakeholders involved too and will be doing more and more with the school safeguarding and Welfare council and parents in the coming months so please look out for this.

We will be inviting exciting guest speakers into school and designing a Penketh Pupils Safeguarding Conference in the New Year.

Below is some information about the team you may need if there are times that you feel your child is worried, unhappy or in danger. Please do not forget we have a comprehensive safeguarding section on the school website and there are links for key school policies agencies, resources and websites for both you and your child. Please also contact us at welfare@penketh.warrington.sch.uk with any worries, suggestions, or celebrations of support you have received.

Best wishes,

Mr S. Panter (Designated Safeguarding and Welfare Lead)
